$5.36 million manufacturing facility for bags and wallets in Mirsharai economic zone

DC Industry (Bangladesh) Company Ltd has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) to establish a bag and wallet manufacturing facility in the Bepza Economic Zone at Mirsharai, Chattogram. The investment for the new facility amounts to $5.36 million.
The agreement was signed yesterday at the Bepza Complex in Dhaka by Md Ashraful Kabir, a member (investment promotion) of Bepza, and Han Chenguang, managing director of DC Industry. The new facility is projected to produce 2.5 million handbags, 1.5 million backpacks, and 1 million wallets annually, creating nearly 3,000 jobs.
Maj Gen Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, executive chairman of Bepza, emphasized Bepza’s commitment to encouraging diverse investments in manufacturing. With this agreement, 31 companies have committed to establishing manufacturing units within the Bepza Economic Zone, bringing the total proposed investments to $711 million.
