Shusmita Anis, a director of Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Ltd, has announced plans to acquire 7.75 lakh shares of the company through the block market by 30 April.

The disclosure, made to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday, stated the shares will be purchased at the prevailing market price. Based on ACI’s closing price of Tk 201.30 per share, the proposed transaction amounts to nearly Tk 15.60 crore.

This follows her earlier purchase of 15.15 lakh shares in January. In recent months, several ACI board members have increased their stakes. Chairman M Anis Ud Dowla acquired 16 lakh shares, while Managing Director Arif Dowla bought 31 lakh shares.

As of June 2024, the chairman held 19.87 percent of the company’s shares, followed by Arif Dowla with 4.98 percent and Shusmita Anis with 1.94 percent. By March 2025, the cumulative shareholding by directors rose to 43.16 percent from 36.07 percent in June 2024.
