The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has unveiled BanglaBiz, a consolidated digital platform aimed at streamlining investment-related services in the country.
For the first time, the One Stop Service (OSS) portals of five key Investment Promotion Agencies — BIDA, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) — are connected under a single interface. Investors will also be able to access the Public Private Partnership Authority through the BanglaBiz homepage.
The initiative, approved in April by the BIDA Governing Body chaired by the Chief Adviser, was developed with financial and technical support from JICA.
The platform’s initial features include a centralized hub of investment information, direct links to IPA OSS portals, FAQs, contact details, and an interactive tool to help investors identify the most relevant agency for their business.
It also provides a secure interface for officials to track service performance, investment trends, and operational data across agencies.
JICA’s Bangladesh Chief Representative Tomohide Ichiguchi said the project demonstrated a “commitment to co-creating solutions that empower investors and strengthen institutional capacity.”
BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury noted that BanglaBiz addressed a long-standing demand for a unified investor portal, describing it as “a single, digital entry point for anyone looking to start and operate in Bangladesh.”
Future phases will include the launch of a Business Starter Package, the introduction of a BanglaBiz ID, and digitalization of work permit and security clearance processes.
