BRAC Bank PLC reported a 47% year-on-year rise in net profit to Tk 486.33 crore for the January–March quarter of FY2025, driven by increased investment and interest income.
According to its unaudited financial statements, the private sector lender also saw its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) climb to Tk 2.27, up from Tk 1.54 (restated) during the same period last year.
The bank attributed the earnings growth to higher profits generated during the quarter, alongside improved deposit mobilisation and bank borrowings. Meanwhile, loan portfolio expansion was relatively modest.
Net operating cash flow per share jumped to Tk 54.40 in Q1, from Tk 30.84 a year earlier. BRAC Bank also noted a year-on-year rise in net asset value per share, supported by increased profits and higher revaluation reserves on government securities.
This strong quarterly performance follows the bank’s 73% surge in consolidated profit to Tk 1,431.84 crore in 2024.
As of 31 March 2025, the bank’s ownership structure showed sponsors and directors holding 46.17% of shares, institutions 14.24%, foreign investors 31.97%, and the general public 7.62%.
