The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has said Cox’s Bazar Airport will begin limited operations before the construction of its new terminal and extended runway is fully completed.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the site today, CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Mafidur Rahman said the upgraded airport would serve as a gateway for tourism and trade.
“This airport will not only boost tourism but also contribute to the country’s economic development. Cox’s Bazar will emerge as an international destination,” he said.
Project Director Yunus Bhuiyan, Airport Manager Golam Murtuza Hasan, and other senior officials were present during the visit.
