Government appoints new administrator to oversee FBCCI election

The government has appointed Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed as the new administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) for a period of 120 days, according to an FBCCI statement.
Khan will be responsible for conducting the upcoming FBCCI election during his tenure, the statement said.
He replaces Md Hafizur Rahman, also a former additional secretary at the Commerce Ministry, who had been serving as administrator since August 2024, following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.
The administrator’s role carries key responsibilities in overseeing the country’s apex trade body during the transitional period, ensuring that the electoral process is conducted smoothly and transparently.
