The government has waived Value Added Tax (VAT) on several products at the production and trading levels until June 30, 2025, to ease consumer costs.

According to a notification issued by the Internal Resources Division of the Finance Ministry on Monday, rapeseed oil, colza seed oil, and canola oil will be exempt from VAT at the production stage until the deadline. Mustard oil will also enjoy VAT exemption at the production level without any time limit.

Additionally, VAT exemptions will apply at the business level for various locally produced essential goods, including biscuits, salt, flour, semolina, chili powder, coriander, turmeric, ginger, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, colza seed oil, canola oil, and pulses.
