At its Build 2025 conference on Monday, Microsoft introduced Microsoft Discovery, a cutting-edge platform designed to transform the scientific discovery process using agentic artificial intelligence (AI).
Described as an “enterprise agentic platform,” Microsoft Discovery aims to streamline end-to-end research workflows, ranging from knowledge reasoning and hypothesis formulation to candidate generation, simulation, and analysis. The company says the platform is extensible and capable of handling complex, science-related workloads at scale.
“Microsoft Discovery is about accelerating research by enabling scientists to collaborate with a team of specialized AI agents,” the company said in a press release, as reported by Xinhua.
The platform integrates the latest advances in AI and supercomputing, allowing for faster and more accurate scientific outcomes. Microsoft emphasised the tool’s potential to enhance collaboration, improve efficiency, and support breakthroughs in various scientific domains.
The launch underscores Microsoft’s broader push into AI-driven enterprise solutions, particularly in high-impact sectors such as research and development.
