Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) PLC’s board has proposed a 550% cash dividend, marking its lowest in nine years despite a 24% profit surge last year.
The multinational firm saw a profit rise to Tk 820.40 million in 2023, up from Tk 659.10 million the previous year, resulting in per share climbing to Tk 173.65 last year compared to Tk 139.50 in 2022, as per Dhaka Stock Exchange filings.
This dividend recommendation by Reckitt aligns with other multinational companies listed in Bangladesh. Many of these companies reported substantial profits in 2023. However, due to a US dollar shortage, most faced challenges in repatriating funds to foreign owners.
