UCB Investment Limited has successfully closed the “SJIBL 3rd Mudaraba Subordinated Bond” worth Tk 5 billion issued by Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC (SJIBL) in a ceremony marking the completion of this transaction at SJIBL’s head office in Gulshan.

As the sole placement agent, UCB Investment, Bangladesh’s leading investment bank, played a pivotal role in the bond issuance. The funds raised will bolster SJIBL’s Tier-II capital, supporting its expansion and growth initiatives.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Mohammed Younus, vice-chairman of SJIBL; Akkas Uddin Mollah, chairman of the executive committee; Nasir Uddin Ahmed, independent director and chairman of the audit committee; and Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, managing director and CEO of the bank.

Representatives from UCB Investment, including its founding managing director and CEO Tanzim Alamgir, additional managing director Abdul Aziz, and SJIBL’s chief financial officer Md Jafar Sadeq were also present, alongside other senior officials.
