University of Chittagong and Asian University for Women jointly celebrate Pi Day

The University of Chittagong Math Club and the Asian University for Women (AUW) Math Center jointly organized a celebration of Pi Day (π Day) on March 14, marking the International Day of Mathematics.
The event, held at the AUW campus, attracted hundreds of math enthusiasts who gathered to explore mathematics’s beauty and significance.
The highlight of the event was a discussion on the elegance and importance of mathematics, featuring Professor Dr. Mohammad Jalal Ahmed, Chairman of the Mathematics Department at the University of Chittagong, as the chief guest. Dr. Ahmed emphasized the critical role of mathematics in shaping the future and its endless possibilities.
The celebration included a series of engaging activities such as a Pi memorization contest, a math quiz, and a Math Talk, where participants showcased their skills and passion for the subject. The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring the winners of the various competitions.
Organizers expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire the younger generation to develop a deeper interest in mathematics and its applications.
