Bangladeshi esports player SI Anik has secured a spot in the finals of the Capcom Pro Tour 2024, also known as Capcom Cup 11, set to take place from March 5 to March 9, 2025, at Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
The tournament, featuring Capcom’s popular fighting game Street Fighter 6, boasts a prize pool of $1 million (approximately BDT 11 crore).
Anik qualified by topping the South Asia regional rounds of the World Warrior tournament, earning 150 points across five competitions. He competed against players from countries including India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal.
“This feels like a big achievement,” Anik said, adding, “I am representing my country on the international stage.”
Anik also expressed his desire to compete against players worldwide but noted sponsorship as a key factor for participating in more international events.
In 2023, Anik made history as the champion of the Capcom Pro Tour 2023 World Warrior Asia South Regional Finals, representing Bangladesh in Capcom Cup X.
