BAT Bangladesh reports profit decline in 2024

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) has reported a 2% decline in profit for the year ending 2024, according to a disclosure on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The country’s largest cigarette manufacturer posted a profit of Tk 17.51 billion, down from the previous year. Earnings per share (EPS) dipped to Tk 32.42 from Tk 33.11 in 2023.
Despite the profit decline, the company has declared a final cash dividend of 150% or Tk 15 per share, bringing the total dividend payout for the year to 300% or Tk 30 per share, including the interim cash dividend disbursed in December 2024.
BATBC’s net operating cash flow per share significantly rose, reaching Tk 32.07 in 2023 compared to Tk 18.90 in 2023.
Meanwhile, shares of BATBC fell 0.96% to Tk 349.9 in mid-day trading on the DSE.
