Blackbird.AI, a US-Bangladeshi company co-founded by Dr. Naushad UzZaman, is using cutting-edge artificial intelligence to combat the growing threat of misinformation and disinformation.
In a Webinar conducted by the Bangladesh Angels Dr. Naushad UzZaman discussed his views, motivation, and scope on the use of AI in combating misinformation.
Naushad UzZaman, a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing with over 20 years of experience at leading firms like Nuance, Microsoft, and Yahoo, believes AI can bring much-needed transparency to online discourse.
“Disinformation and misinformation cause reputational and financial harm,” says Naushad UzZaman. “When narrative attacks are done at scale, this causes societal and organizational damage.”
Blackbird.AI’s Narrative & Risk Intelligence Platform uses AI and network analysis to detect and expose these ‘synthetic narratives’ before they can cause real-world harm.
Blackbird.AI’s platform is already being used by leading enterprises, Fortune 500s, and large government organizations around the world. UzZaman, who grew up in Bangladesh and studied at BRAC University, is passionate about connecting the Bangladeshi tech ecosystem with the global stage.
“I would say for us in Bangladesh to catch up to the rest of the world in AI, the government and private companies should come forward to develop and provide us with the computational power required,” he says.
