Nagad, the mobile financial service (MFS) arm of the Bangladesh Postal Department, has set a new record for monthly transaction volume, registering BDT 340 billion in March 2025.

This figure marks the highest single-month transaction total in the company’s six-year history and reflects its continued expansion in Bangladesh’s competitive digital finance sector.

The company, which has grown rapidly since its launch, attributed the record-setting month to an increase in core services such as cash-in and cash-out operations, person-to-person transfers, utility bill payments, and mobile phone top-ups.

This latest milestone surpasses Nagad’s previous monthly high of BDT 320 billion, recorded in June 2024. According to the company, customer engagement during March was bolstered by a nationwide promotional campaign—“Utsober Khushi Nagade Beshi”—offering hourly prizes for transactions completed via the Nagad platform. The campaign generated significant market interest and was cited as a major contributor to the month’s elevated transaction volume.

Md Motasem Billah, Nagad’s administrator, extended congratulations to the company’s stakeholders, including customers, employees, agents, and entrepreneurs, acknowledging their collective role in the achievement.

“Success is never a matter of chance. It is the product of collective effort and hard work,” he said. He emphasized that shared values and a unified sense of purpose have helped Nagad maintain its momentum.

The service also recorded a notable single-day high of BDT 15 billion in transactions on March 20, while earlier in the year, it made headlines for surpassing BDT 20 billion in daily transactions on January 9.
