The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has invited businesses to submit their proposals on value-added tax (VAT) and supplementary duty for the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year, which begins in July.
In letters sent to trade bodies, customs and VAT field offices, ministries, and divisions, the revenue authority urged stakeholders to provide their input on the VAT and Supplementary Duty Act 2012, VAT and SD rules, the Excise and Salt Act 1944, and relevant notifications.
The NBR has set a March 6 deadline for businesses to submit their proposals. This move is part of its annual consultation process aimed at shaping tax policies and regulations.
Last week, the NBR’s income tax wing similarly sought recommendations from business and professional bodies regarding income tax laws to assist in drafting proposals for the next fiscal year.
