TikTok, in collaboration with the Bangladesh government, has launched a dedicated STEM Feed — a new in-app feature aimed at promoting credible and engaging educational content in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Unveiled at an event in Dhaka, the initiative reflects TikTok’s growing investment in education and digital inclusion in Bangladesh. The launch brought together senior government officials, educators, digital creators and company representatives engaged in advancing e-learning in the country.
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, attended as a special guest. He said the platform could inspire innovation among Bangladesh’s youth by combining creativity with access to reliable STEM education.
“Bangladesh’s young people are naturally curious and creative. When we pair that creative spirit with safe, credible STEM learning, we nurture a culture of innovation and problem-solving,” he said.
The STEM Feed will offer users a curated stream of trustworthy videos designed to reduce educational disparities, particularly between urban and rural learners. Alongside the feature, TikTok introduced the hashtag #STEMTok, which will showcase local content in Bangla and other languages from creators and educational partners.
Ferdous Mottakin, TikTok’s head of Public Policy and Government Relations for South Asia, said the initiative supports national goals for digital inclusion and youth empowerment.
TikTok also emphasised its safety measures, including Family Pairing, Time-Away Scheduling and Proactive Reporting Alerts, ensuring responsible use. The company reaffirmed its commitment to using technology to expand access to quality education across Bangladesh.
