ACI Ltd reported a consolidated loss of Tk 136.9 million in the third quarter of the 2024–25 fiscal year, reversing from a Tk 16.5 billion profit in the same period a year earlier.
Despite the setback, the company’s revenue rose 17 percent year-on-year to Tk 35.74 billion for the January–March quarter, according to its latest financial statements.
For the nine months ending March 31, total revenue stood at Tk 101.93 billion, up 9.6 percent from the previous year, driven by multiple business segments.
Loss per share for the third quarter was Tk 1.12, down from an earnings per share of Tk 0.13 a year earlier. Over the July–March period, consolidated loss per share widened to Tk 9.11 from Tk 7.18.
ACI attributed the earnings decline to rising borrowing costs, which offset gains from improved operating profit. The increase in interest expenses was linked to higher rates and additional funding needs for working capital and strategic investments.
Net operating cash flow per share dropped further into negative territory, reaching Tk 83.11, compared to Tk 51.03 a year earlier.
Dhaka Stock Exchange data show that as of March 31, 2025, sponsors and directors held 43.16 percent of the company’s shares, while institutional investors owned 35.79 percent and the general public 21.05 percent.
