China will implement zero‑tariff treatment on imports from the 53 African countries with which it maintains diplomatic relations, starting 1 May 2026.
China will also continue negotiating joint economic partnership agreements and trade facilitation through mechanisms such as its “green channel” to streamline imports from the continent.
This step is a part of Beijing’s broader strategy to strengthen trade ties with Africa and support economic growth across the region.
